Togo Launches Request for Proposals for Scaling Solar Project
The government of Togo—through the Togolese Agency for Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy (AT2ER)—released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design, financing, construction, and operation of a grid-connected solar PV plant with a capacity of approximately 50 MW under the World Bank Group’s Scaling Solar program. The plant will be located near Sokodé in the Centrale Region.
Launched in December 2019, the competitive tender process resulted in the successful qualification of 9 following bidders out of 20 candidates to receive the RFP and submit bids for the project:

- EDF Renouvelables / Meridiam
- Engie Global Developements B.V.
- Globeleq Africa Holdings Ltd.
- IB Vogt / Elsewedy
- Nareva Renouvelables
- Samsung C&T Corporation
- Scatec Solar ASA
- Taqa Morocco
All bidders must submit their proposals by December 15, 2022.
