Afghanistan launches Request for Proposals for Scaling Solar Project

KABUL, Afghanistan – On Sunday, November 1, 2020, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Water and Energy released its Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development, construction and operation of up to 40 MW of grid-connected solar PV installations on an IPP basis, located near the Gozareh district in the western province of Herat.

The competitive tender process, launched in October 2019, resulted in 3 bidders being successfully pre-qualified in July 2020 to receive the RFP and submit bids for the project. All bidders must submit their proposals by March 3, 2021.
